#1 I have a daughter who died last spring. She came to visit me one morning, and I was calm. I said her name in disbelief, and she turned to me. I spoke quickly, believing this was a dream. She never left me again.

#2 I ask my daughter why she is so upset. She points to the calendar, which reads April 6, 2018. Tomorrow will be one year since she left us.

#3 I began writing the story of my daughter, Chika, who had died a year earlier. I wanted to stay with her while I wrote, and she agreed. I would tell her the story of us.

#4 I was able to touch Chika, but she could not touch me. I was grateful for her visits, and I was hungry for every little contact.
