The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes

The eccentric detective Sherlock Holmes steps out of the fog of Victorian London for the first time here, to uncover some of the most intricate and dizzying mysteries in suspense literature, alongside his friend Dr. Watson. The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes compiles Arthur Conan Doyle's first twelve Sherlock Holmes stories, originally published in The Strand Magazine in the early 1890s. Included are classic tales such as »A Scandal in Bohemia« and »The Red-Headed League,« as well as several of Doyle's own favorites, like »The Speckled Band« and »The Man with the Twisted Lip«. It is a milestone in the detective genre that has had an immeasurable influence on popular culture.

SIR ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE [1859-1930], was a Scottish physician and author, best known for his stories about the groundbreaking master detective Sherlock Holmes. Doyle wrote a total of 56 short stories and four novels about Sherlock Holmes and his constant companion Dr. Watson.
