The “laziness lie” ignores the many barriers we must deal with in meeting our goals. Being lazy can be a self-protection. Lacking motivation is rational if you haven’t been convinced that there’s any value in it. They say, “I might disagree with somebody else's priorities but if they don't care about doing something that doesn't matter to them, that's pretty rational.”
